Elgin Rehab began with a clinician's frustration. After years in hospital medicine, our founder kept seeing the same gap: patients from Elgin and the surrounding Fox River communities were stabilized in the ER, then sent to Chicago for real addiction treatment — or sent home with nothing. The miles, the cost, and the disruption meant many never went at all.
So she left the hospital to build the center those families needed, right on S Grove Ave. The model was deliberate: individualized care, hospital-grade medical standards, and a treatment plan shaped around each person rather than a fixed program.
Thirteen years and more than 7,000 patients later, that founding conviction still guides us. Elgin Rehab proves that world-class addiction care does not require leaving your community — it can be delivered with excellence, close to home.
Our mission is to make excellent addiction treatment genuinely accessible to the people of Elgin and the Fox River Valley. Quality care should not depend on whether a family can afford to travel for it. We are committed to delivering hospital-grade, evidence-based treatment — detox through aftercare — right here in the community, so distance and cost never stand between someone and recovery.
Our care is grounded in the neuroscience of addiction — we treat it as a brain condition, using what research reveals about reward, stress, and memory to guide every clinical decision. We also treat addiction as a family condition, drawing on family systems therapy to repair the relationships and patterns that substance use strains.
And because recovery has to last in the real world, we emphasize community reintegration: rebuilding the work, relationships, and routines that give a sober life meaning — here in Elgin, where our patients actually live. Evidence guides the method; community keeps it durable.
Founder & Medical Director
A practicing clinician who left hospital medicine to found Elgin Rehab, Dr. Halloran is board-certified in addiction medicine. He oversees detox protocols and medication-assisted treatment and shaped the individualized model of care that defines our center.
Clinical Director
Dr. Ramos directs our therapy programming and dual diagnosis care, integrating CBT, DBT, and EMDR so the psychological roots of addiction are treated alongside the substance use itself.
Director of Family Programs
A licensed clinical social worker and certified alcohol and drug counselor, Brian leads the family systems work that brings loved ones into recovery and rebuilds the trust addiction strains.
Staff Psychiatrist
Dr. Pradhan leads psychiatric and neuroscience-based care, coordinating medication management and treatment for patients facing co-occurring conditions alongside addiction.
